(New Haven, Steamboat Dock) Up at 6.30. Off with Rev. W. Gladden for Union depot. Breakfasted there. Off at 7.55 for Hartford. At home at 9.40. Found Rev. H. B. Elliott at house. Read letters. Down to Pearl St. Church to attend meeting of Am. Miss. Assoc. Met many friends there. W. J. Holland returned to dinner with me. D. P. Storr & Mr. Elliott also there. Down with Holland to Allyn House. Took Rev. Mr. Reed to ride about town. Visited Ch. of Good Shepherd. Back to Allyn House & Pearl St. Church. Home & abed with sick headache. In evening sent off Independent copy. Sophy's birthday. Pleasant gathering of her friends. Retired at 10.15.
