(Hartford) Up at 6.40. Hot day. Baby ill. Sent for Dr. Hunt. Wrote letters all forenoon. Off at 1 for New Haven. Wrote up diary. At College green at 2. Attended Alumni dinner. Sat with Twichell. Pres't Woolsey retired from the presidency. Pres. Porter assumed his new duties. Met Atherton. Twichell made good speech. Home with Leon'd Bacon to tea at his father's. Off at 8.15 for home by steamboat train. Met R. J. Wright on cars. Retired at 12. Sent one S.S. letter and one other.
