(Hartford) Up at 8. Wrote to Alice and Durfee, and prepared items for Independent. Down to depot. Took nap after dinner. Received telegrams from Shut as to Parsons. Off at 3.30 for Bridgeport. Met Parsons on cars, also Calvin Day & Dr. Knight. Long talk with Parsons about seminary at Hartford. In Bridgeport called on 00000. Rode with Parsons to Black Rock. Thence to Mrs. Jessup's. Surprised Alice. Chat with Mr. Squire after tea. Walked with Alice to Dr. Rankin's. Back to house and retired at 10.15.
