(Springfield, Mass.) Up at 6.30. Bright day. Off at 8 for Brattleboro. Wrote on Independent items as I rode. Met Dickerson at Brattleboro. Thence with him to 0000000. Rode with Deacon Dutton to church, to attend Congl Conference for Windham Co. Dined at Mr. Worden's. Wrote W. H. Ward & sent Independent article by Deacon Dutton to depot. Attended conference in afternoon. Heard reports of churches. Met Brattlesboro friends. In evening addressed conference on proper services for the Sabbath. Rode to Brattlesboro with Mr. & Mrs. Rice. Retired at 11.15. (Sent letter to Alice).
