(Fairfield) Ally sick through the night and in the morning. Wrote several letters. Out after crabs with Johnny. Good success. Down to hotel with Johnny after dinner. Paid bill for rides & baggage. Obtained carriage for beach. Called at Dr. Rankin’s. Rode to beach with Alice & children & Kate’s family. Most went in bathing. Back to house. Called at Bern’s in evening. Bern, Kate & Mrs. Sherman called. Retired at 10.30. Baby restless. Alice discouraged. Sent three S.S. letters and two others.
