(Hartford) Up at 7.50. Read papers. Out to Congl. church on Asylum Hill. Heard Prof. Paine preach. Attended Communion service. Had talk after dinner with Slosson and Gurdon about Observer views of giving. Commenced letter to Gray. Wrote Alice. Read papers again. At 5.20 went down to Morgan St. with Johnny. E. A. Gillette spoke there. Took tea at Father's on return. Wrote again on letters while Johnny napped it. Retired at 10.15.
