(New York) Up at 6.30. Breakfasted at St. James. Off at 8 for home. Wrote up diary. Met Wm. Saxon on cars. At Bridgeport met Mr. Squire. Wrote Alice. At Hartford at noon. Dined at Father’s. Read letters. Looked over papers. Found suit of Scotch goods from Wanamaker’s at house. Out to Camps with Johnny. Downtown with him. Bought new hat. Downtown again to look for Kingsbury. Found him. He returned with us to house. Had long talk about Nat’l Teacher and S.S. Union. Retired at 10.30. Down to depot again at 9.30. Sent five S.S. letters and three others.
