(Fairfield) Up at 6.50. Rode with Dr. Rankin & Paxson to Southport. Called on F. D. Perry. Back to Ffield. Alice joined me. Attended Congl. Church. Heard Paxson preach for S.S. Union from Ex 2:9. Lunched at Dr. Rankin's. Alice rode home with Paxson. I walked to house. Rode thence with Paxson to Bridgeport. Left horse at stable. Visited & addressed North & South Congl. Church S.S.'s with him. Back to Fairfield. Pleasant evening at home chatting with all hands. Delightful talks about Jesus. Wrote J. B. Tyler. Commenced letter to Fred. Cool evening. Retired at 10.45.
