Sunday, September 10, 1871

(Fairfield, Ct.) Up at 7.15. Bright day. After prayers, made ready for day. Mr. Henry Bulkley came for me. Rode with him to his Southport home. Called at Mr. Hill’s. Preached on the Great Commission in forenoon, at Congl. church. At noon addressed the S.S. Told of Libby Prison mail. Dined at Mr. Bulkley’s. Mr. Jennings man came for me. Rode with him to Fairfield. At Dr. Rankin’s met Rev. Mr. Burr of Weston. Went to Congl Church with him. Preached to children from Ps. 119:105. Walked to Mr. Jessup’s. Took a nap. After tea rode with Alice in Mr. Jenning’s team to Southport. Preached to children on Bible 0000 there. Back to Mrs. Jessup’s. Mother G & children out late. Retired at 10.45.
