(Hartford) Up at 6 to open door. Joiner came soon after 7. Breakfasted early with Johnny. (Up with him finally at 7.30) Long talk with Annie about herself. Again talked with Prime & Gurdon. Finished work on registers and carpets. Prime went, with Mary, at noon. Down to see Dr. Hunt about Annie. Obtained chloral at druggists. Paid Merchant's Fire Ins. bill. Off at 3.30 for Fairfield. Wrote up diary. Wrote Rev. J. A. Smith. Read S.S. papers and made notes from them. At Ffield at 6. Dr. Rankin's son & daughter met me. Rode with them to their home. Thence to Mrs. Jessup's. Bern, Sandy, Ogden, Frank, Kate, & Caroline called in evening. Fright from stone thrown through window. Retired at 10.15. Wrote Fred.
