(Hartford) Up at 8. Boy came for willow chairs, to repair. Downtown with Johnny. Bought scrapbooks. Gen. Curtis called on me with Gen. Hawley. Annie went to ride with children. Scene with her at noon at her return. Out to West Hartford at 3pm with Johnny to meet Berlin S.S. Union schools. Downtown before tea. Called at Dr. Hart’s. (Called at Mr. Camp’s on my way back from W. Hartford. Talked of plans for Charley.) In evening tried to write, but found myself unable to do so. Retired at 10.30. My head troubled me in night. Seeming explosions in my head. Sent four S.S. letters and one other.
