(Chicago, Ill.) Up at 7.15. Off at 9 for Milwaukee with Charley. Mailed letter to Alice at hote. Wrote to her again, and to C. B. Rice, on cars. At Milwaukee & stopped at Newhall House at 1.30. Walked about town with Charley. Mr. Marsh came at 3.30. Bought hat for Charley. Balanced cash. Wrote items for Independent. Off at 9pm in sleeping car for Faribault. Talked with Mr. Marsh until 10.30. Retired, with Charley, in section of sleeping car.
