(Hartford) Up at 8.10. Downtown with Johnny. Met Ned at Mr. Fessenden’s. Gave note for $500 - at 3 mos. at Ch. Oak bank, endorsed by Ned. called at Williams & House’s, book-binders, J. G. Griswold’s, etc. Home and worked on monthly statement. Finished it and gave check for it to Johnny. Called on Gurdon with Ned. Off at 3.30 with Mother G. and Ned for Fairfield. Paid Ellen up to 5th inst. at Fairfield at 6. Delightful meeting with family. Ned & Ben called from Mr. Sherman’s in evening. Retired at 10.15. Sent three S.S. letters.
