(Philadelphia) Up at 7.30. At Union rooms again at 9. Johnny off for home about noon. Had talks with Wurts about Dr. Newton's possible employment. Went to Dr. Newton's study, to Mr. Knoles' & to Mr. Whillidin's. Called on Gen. Wagner. Dined at Continental. Off at 5.30 for New York. At Prime's about 9.15. Chatted with Mary. Wrote on Independent articles in room. Retired at 1am.
