(New York) Johnny up at 5.30 to meet his Mother. Up at 7.30. At breakfast met W. C. Chapin. Johnny returned with his Mother. Met Mr. Chapman formerly of Trumbull House, Gen. Roberts and Mr. Tracy. Called at Devlin’s to buy pants for Johnny. At Bible House met W. P. Paxson & Mr. Kingbury. Off at 12.15 for Bridgeport. Johnny & his Mother on cars. Wrote Fred. Lunched at Bridgeport. Met Wm. Brown. Rode to Fairfield by 3.06 train. Walked to hotel. Rode thence to Mrs. Jessup’s. Found Alice & two younger children well. Sophy & May at Greenwich. walked with Alice to depot & Dr. Rankin’s. Called with her at Mr. Sherman’s. Pleasant evening. Retired at 11.
