(Hartford) Up at 8. F. A. Sykes & his brother Lafayette called. Down to Allyn House at 10.20. Rode out with Paxson for an hour. Off with him at 1 for New Haven. Called on W. A. Ives and had pleasant talk; also at New Haven House. Off at 4.30 for Bridgeport. Met Edw'd Sterling. Thence at 5.40 to Fairfield. Walked to Mrs. Jessup's. After tea Dr. Rankin called. Walked to Dr. Rankin's with Paxson & back. Brought ice-cream to family. Retired at 10.30. Sent telegram to E. Sterling.
