(Hartford) Up at 7.40. Rainy morning. Wrote letters. Examined papers. Downtown with Johnny. Obtained proofs of pictures. Downtown after dinner. Paid D. S. Brooks & Sons bill. Called at McClunie's. In evening Gurdon called and had talk about my proposed letter to Annie. Sent sixteen letters. Retired at 10.15. Changed wire on column before front door in evening.
