(Hartford) Up at 7.40. Hot day. Took bath. Out to Asylum Hill Church in forenoon. Heard Twichell on Unity & Variety in the Christian Graces. Read at noon. Looked over papers in afternoon and made ready for Morgan St. S.S. (meeting for the first time at 6.30). Out to Camps before tea. After tea called at Twichells. Geo. Bacon there. Down to Morgan St. Chapel with Twichell, J. M. Allen and May. Pleasant service. Gave blackboard exercise. Showery evening. Home at 8. Gurdon called to talk about Annie's visit to Stockbridge. Called on James about it. Received dispatch from Chicago asking if I would think of editing the Nat'l Teacher. Retired at 10.30.
