(Philadelphia) Up at 7. After breakfast met Kingsbury. Chatted with him about Union work. Thence to Union rooms. Talked with Knowles, Rice & Allibone. Lunched with Kingsbury at Continental. Telegraphed Allen. Wrote Mr. Knapp. Off at 1pm with Kingsbury for Mt. Holly to see Ashhurst. Had talk with latter about new work for Union. Rode to depot with Dr. Ashhurst & Dr. Newton’s assistant sexton. On to Phila. Off for W. Phila. Train off the track. Telegraphed twice to Clerk of Elm City. Wrote Alice. Off for N.Y. at 7.14. Good nap. Barely reached Elm City at 11. Wrote Johnny. Retired at 12.15.
