(Fairfield) Up at 5.45. Paxson off at 7.20 for New York, Alice walked with me to depot for 9.23 train for New Haven. Wrote on letter to Fred. At New Haven wrote in John S. North's office. Home by noon express train. Found Johnny there. Telegram from Fred. Telegraphed him. Off at 1.50 for South Windham. Met Shipman on cars. At So. Windham met Fred. Rode with him to Palmer & Springfield. Met Albert Hancox & boys. At Springd. met Gen. Greeley. Paid him $10 borrowed at New York. Fred left for his home at 6.50. Supposed at Massasoit. Called at W. G. Holland's. He away. Met him at depot. Off for home at 8.30. Retired, at home, at 10.15. Wrote Alice.
