(New York) Up at 7.45. Storm over, but day cloudy. Called at Wallace's. Had hair cut at Thatford's. Called at Independent officec & at Hearth & Home office. Thence to Tyler's office. Called at Taylor's. He out. Again at Tyler's. Met Rice after his visit to Dr. Hall. Talked over Lesson Papers. Lunched with Tyler & Rice. Off at 3pm for home. Met Miss Mallory & Maj. Learned. Wrote on Independent "copy". Home at 7.15. Shute went on. Wrote on "copy". Sent off articles for World & for Independent by midnight train. Retired at 12.
