(Hartford) Up at 7.45. Called at Father's. Down to bank. Deposited Father's certificate of stock etc. attended Dr. John Koll's lecture to students on Church Success at Centre Church lecture-room. Called at Aetna office with Johnny. Home at noon. Mother & Kate came. Off at 1pm for New York, Dr. Ball on cars. Wrote up diary. Wrote on items for Independent. At Prime's at 5.30pm. Snowing slightly. Called Hoffman House. Met Kingsbury. Dined with him. Called at Tyler's. Talked with him about his leaving the Union. Again at Kingsbury's and at Prime's. Wrote until 1. Retired at 1.15.
