(Oberlin, Ohio) Up at 7.30. After breakfast walked to church and depot. Met Langworthy, Storrs, Finney, Barrows, Howard and a hose of other acquaintances. Attended forenoon session of Council. After dinner talked with George Langdon. Wrote in Independent notes. Again at Council. At its close went to tea at Mr. Reamer's (? I with Atwood, Vose, and others. Off with Atwood, Quint, & Abbott at 8.40 for the east via Erie R.R. Had pleasant talk with Atwood on personal religion. Shared section of sleeper car with him. Retired at 10.30.
