(Hartford) Up at 6 to see Atherton off. Again to bed. Slept until 9.15. Sophy made ready for a start to New York. She left with James and Sarah and Annie at 1pm. Marsh came in afternoon. Rev. L. P. Chamberlain of Chicago called and took tea. Wrote on items for Independent. Retired at 10.30.
