(Hartford) Up at 8.30. Bright, warm day. Father called to see about New Haven R.R. dividends. Wrote letters. Ned called. Down to Mr. Fessenden's and to depot at 1pm with him. He off for Washn. Johnny went at 1.50 to New London. Down to bank. Exchanged $1000 - Springd City bond for Conn. West R.R. bond for Father. Wrote letters again. Off at 4.50 with Mr. Marsh for Springd. Met Geo. Wattles. Supped at Massasoit. Sent item for Independent, off with George at 8.25 for Worcester. At Bay State House at 10.30, after writing on notes of address. Retired at 10.50.
