(New York) Up at 7. Bright day. Hurried breakfast. Off at 8 for Plainfield, New Jersey. Pleasant talk with Dr. Vincent about S.S. Normal work. Off on return by 11.10 train. Wrote up diary on cars. At New York at noon. Called at Independent office. Up to Bible House. Met Rev. B. S. Swan. Thence to 27th St. Depot. Met Tyler. Talked with him about his writing for papers. Off for home by 3pm train. Met delegates from Oberlin. Rode with Pres. Kitchall of Middlebury College. At home at 7.15. Mary & Prime at Father's. Called there. Talked with Father about Aetna stock. R. S. Storr called; also Mr. & Mrs. H. J. Johnson. Retired at 11.
