(Boston) Up at 7.30. Bright day. Out to Shute's. Went shopping with Alice (Completed draft of circular before leaving room. Sent one to printer's). Out & in from Shute's. Called at Pratt's. Met Gen. Hawley. Called at Noyes'. Looked for Col. Hoyt. dined at Parker's. Out to Shute's. Wrote letters in early evening. Received circulars. Sent some of them off. Shute took tea with us and passed the evening. Read aloud to him & Alice. Retired at 11.30.
