(Middletown) Up at 7.45. Cold, cloudy day. Made ready for services and wrote Fred. Out to So. Congl. Ch. in forenoon. Heard Prof. J. L. Taylor of Andover preach on Christ as a Teacher. At noon called at 1st Baptist and 1st Congl. S.S. Spoke at first-named. Lunched at Copeland's. Chaplain Bradford called for me to address his girls at the Industrial school. Looked in at So. Congl. S.S. Thence with Chaplain Bradford and spoke to his girls. Back to Copeland's. In evening addressed union meeting of children of So. Cong. Ch. on Matt 18:2. Met Prof. Taylor, Rev. Mr. Hazen and others. Back to Copeland's. Pleasant evening there. Retired at 11. Rainy evening.
