(Hartford) Up at 7.45. News of Slosson's death came to us. Called at Father's. Wrote letters to Norwich. Downtown with Johnny. Called at bank. Off for Greenwich at 1. Alice & Johnny at depot with me. Wrote up cash a/p. Wrote to H. N. Trumbull, J. Reid, Jr., Ned Gallaudet, & M. A. Wurts. Commenced letter to T. H. Camp. Dined at Stanford. Off again at 4.06. Met Dr. A. Clark on cars. At Greenwich depot met Will Prime & Judge Slosson going to N. Y. Rode to Annie's, sad house there. Prayed with Annie. Talked with James & Mrs. Prime. Wrote Alice. Walked to depot at 6.30. Telegraphed Alice. Off for N.Y. at 6.50. Finished letter to Mr. Camp. At Primes at 9. (Calling at Tyler's on the way.) Retired at 10.30.
