(Springfield) Up at 6. Off at 7 for home. At house at 8.20. Downtown to bank. Talked over note renewal with Morris. Johnny off to Unionville. Called at Father's. He had brought his securities from bank. After early dinner down to post-office. Received letter from Fred. Off at 1.50 for Norwich. Read "Old & New". Wrote letter to Ned. Stopped at Williamantic half-an-hour. On the New London train met Rev. Mr Schaffer. Talked over Springfield matters with him. Fred me me at depot in Norwich. Rode with him to Taftville. Examined new mill there. Took tea with him. Rode back to Norwich. Called on Col. Coit.
