(Hartford) Up at 7.40. Light fall of snow. Clearing up. Mr. Camp called. Told him of Mr. Noyes' letter. Advised Charley's return. Off at 9.40. S. H. Nott on cars. At Springfield at 11. Called on Holland, and at the Merriams' office. Talked with H. Merriam about S.S. Union spelling. Dined at Massasoit. Holland with me. Off at 12.15 for E. Hampton. Wrote on diary. At E. Hampton at 1.30. Called at Dr. Sealye & at Dr. Lyman's. Thence to Mr. Williston. Consulted with Rev. E. M. Wright as to Alumni catalogue. Called on Dr. Henshaw. At gymnasium found you Charley Cochrane. Rode with him & Bloomfield to Northampton. Called at Bridgeman's. Off for home at 5.15. Delayed on track below Holyoke by broken down freight train. At Spring.d. met Rev. Edwd. Abbott, also Fred Douglass. Home at 7.30. Wrote J. L. Noyes. Retired at 11.30.
