(Hartford) Waked up with severe headache. Still very cold weather. Up at 8.45. Wrote other items for S.S. World. Off at 2pm, with Johnny for Springfield. Met George Wattles on cars. At Holland's at 3.15. Thence to Brigham's. Obtained check for $125 from 1st Cog. S.S. for S.S. Union. Bought candies etc for children. Johnny returned by 5.10 train. Supped at Massasoit. Wrote letters. Train in one hour and twenty minutes late from Boston. Met Fred Camp. Gave him diary. Off for home at 7.45. Called at Father's. Home about 9.15. Marsh back from Guilford. Johnny took letters to depot. Balanced cash a/p. Retired at 12.30.
