Wednesday, March 15, 1871

(Bridgeport, Ct.) Up at 7. Showery day. Out to Convention at 8.45. Busy day planning for work in state, and hearing exercises. Dr. Eggleston came. Discussion with Rev. J. M. Buckley of Stamford. Dined at Mr. Sterling's with Mr. Christie and Dea. Fuller of Kent. After afternoon session of Convention took tea, with Johnny, at Maj. Mallory's. Had pleasant talk with Prof. Mallory. Spoke on Blackboard, in afternoon, at Convention. In evening heard Dr. Eggleston speak on "Sympathy". Retired at 10.30.
