(Hartford) Up at 8.30. Dull day. Wrote letters in forenoon. Downtown with Alice after dinner. Called at Mr. Fessenden's with her. Thence to post-office with Mr. Gould. Sent twleve S.S. letters and two others. In evening sorted papers and scraps on floor of library. Retired at 11.45. Called at Father's. Invited Slosson and Annie to dinner for Wednesday. They declined. Worked on cash a/c.
