(Hartford) Beautiful day. Up at 7.45. Balanced cash. Wrote letters. Downtown to post-office. Letter from Fred. Called at Courant office. Rec'd $40 from Mr. Camp. Ordered suit of clothes at Fisher's. Ordered ice-cream etc. for Sophy. Sent cloak back to Boston. Wrote again in afternoon. Sophy's birth-day. Charley & Lizzie Camp & Annie Trumbull came to take tea with her. Off at 7.50 for Co. Col.. Wrote L. Wessells from depot at Hartford. At Co. Col. found no carriage. Walked to Greenwich. Reached Slosson's about midnight. Alice not there. Had supper. Retired at 1.45. Cold night. Sent fifteen S.S. letters and two others and one telegram.
