(Hartford) Up at 8.15. Dull morning. Not well. Read letters. One from "Greshman". Wrote letters. Balanced cash. Downtown after dinner. Met Rev. E. P. Parker & talked to him about Portland Church. Called at Courant office, R. Terry's for Asylum Hill Church collection. Chaplain Snell's, Brown & Gross', Fisher's, and post-office. After tea, went with Alice to Mark Twain's lecture, at Allyn Hall. Occupied box with Twichell. Called at Father's after lecture. Retired at 11.15. Sent twelve S.S. letters & telegrams & two others. Also one to Gresham.
