(New York) Up at 7.30. After breakfast and talk with Mr. Camp out with Fred shopping. Up to 23d St. Visited Y.M.C.A. building. Met Amherst student there. Down to Bible House. Chatted with Tyler, Bissell, & McCullagh. Downtown again. Bought hat with Fred at James'. Left St. Nicholas hotel for depot. Lunched at 27th St. depot. Called at J. Spencer's. Off for home at 4.30. Wrote on cars. At Hartford at 9pm. Met Charley Camp as I walked home. Aided Alice in looking over Christmas presents for children. Went to bed very tired at 11.30. Gave letter to Fred.
