(Springfield, Mass.) Up at 5.45. After breakfast, Alice went home by 7am train. Met Rev. Dr. Eddy. Rode with hiim to Boston by 7.15. train. Wrote Gray. At Shute's at 11.15. Called at Noyes, Pratt's, Congregationlist office, etc. After dinner with Shute, out to Durant's. Had cards printed. Out to Lowell by 6pm train. Called at J. K. Chase's store, and Y.M.C.A. rooms. Thence to Mr. Chase's house for night. After talk with family, retired, with Mr. McCullagh, at 11pm. Snowy evening. Sent one S.S. letter and one other.
