(Hartford) Up at 8.05. Cold day. Mr. Marsh came from Springfield to help me. Wrote letters. Downtown. Called at Mr. Fessenden's. Wallace came at noon. Down with Alice to funeral at 3pm. Rode to Cedar Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Prof. Thompson in carriage. Called at Dr. Hunt's. Rev. Mr. Parker called. Mr. Allen left service. Off with Alice and Mr. Marsh for Springfield at 7.15. Stopped at Massasoit. Alice sat there while I went to Mrs. Merriam's. Mailed letter to Fred. Back to hotel at 10.30. Retired at 11. Sent three S.S. letters & one other. Also one to Miss C. Ely.
