Friday, November 19, 1869

(Hartford) Up at 8. Charley Camp, Allen & Fletcher came. Telegram from L. W. Bacon announced coming of Father Hyacinthe. Met them, with James at cars. Walked uptown. Then took carriage around town. Stopped at Dr. Bushnell's, Mr. Gage's, Wadsworth Atheneum & Centre Church cemetery. Drove through park. Hyacinthe and Bacon went on to Boston by noon express. Down to office of Post. In afternoon wrote letters. Downtown in evening. Called at Courant office. Tel'd Mrs. Merriam. Off at 10.40 for Springfield. Called at Mrs. Merriam's. Sat there until 1.50. Back to Massasoit. Retired at 2.30. Sent fourteen S.S. letters & tel. & one other.
