(Lowell, Mass.) Up at 6. Snow storm. Off for Boston at 7.30. Met Rev. Horace James on cars. Called at Richardson's office. Left first article on libraries with him. Called at Shute's. Met Mrs. Lefurnor & May. Went to Prof. Tourgee's and to Mr. Hodgson's with them. Dined with Shute at Parker's. Saw Mr. Torrey & McCullagh. Off for home at 3pm. Snowing hard. Train delayed nearly two hours. Home at 9. Ned in Hartford. Read letters. Retired at 12.
