Monday, December 13, 1869

(Bangor, Me.) Up at 7.30. Cold day. Slight fall of snow. Downtown with Gen. P. Called at Mr. Fay's. Found that McCullagh had gone to Portland or elsewhere. Called at Duren's store. Looked over books. Met Rev. Mr. Field. Home with Gen. P. to dinner. Out in afternoon. Called at Ware's. Sent letters to Tryon, Baker, & Fred. Rode about town with Ware. Called at his home. back to Gen. P's. Thence with Alice to Mr. Fay's to tea. Met Rev. Mr. Field there. Rev. Mr. & Mrs. Woodhull called. Gen. P. came for us at 9. Went home with him. Retired at 10pm.
