(Hartford, Ct.) Up at 8.30 with head-ache. Talked much with Alice. Off at 12.20 with Johnny for Springfield. Met Prof. S. Clark Seelye on cars. Dined at Massasoit. Off at 1.45 for Worcester. Wrote up diary on cars. At Worcester at 3.45. Called at Mr. Whitney's twice, and twice at Dr. Cutler's. Stopped to tea at Dr. Cutler's. Met Rev. H. J. Cheever and others there. Off at 9.55pm for Boston, after calling at Mr. Whitney's house and office for bag. Met Lt. Gov. Tucker on cars. At Parker House at 12. Retired at 12.30. Sent five S.S. letters and telegrams and one other.
