(Hartford) Up at 8.15. Cold, bright day. Wrote at home all forenoon. Father called after dinner and stopped some time. Down with Johnny to post-office, brokers', and market. Wallace Gallaudet, Margaret & Bell came to funeral of Mrs. John Parsons. Supped with us. Gurdon called. Wrote in evening. Alice went to Theo. Thomas' concert with Camps. Wrote up diary. Hot oysters in room after Alice's return. Retired at 12. Sent fourteetn S.S. letters and three others.
