(New York) Up at 7.45. Bright day. After breakfast, up to Dr. A. Clark's with Fred & his father. After his examination we went downtown. Called at Ed. Stanton's, Mr. Crane's, Wallace's, etc. Obtained ink stand from Barton & Allen's. Lunched at Delmonico's. Had hair cut. Called at Baldwin, Starr & Co. old stand. Looked in at Dollar Stores. Dined at hotel with Mr. Camp. Called with Fred at Van Santvoords. Thence to Baldwin's. Back to hotel. Had talk with Fred. Gusty evening. Retired at 11.
