(Springfield, Mass.) Up at 6. Bright, cold day. Off with Alice at 7.15 for Boston. On cars met Mrs. Bliss. Wrote up diary and balanced cash. Also completed record of addresses. Wrote on Library articles. Reached Boston at noon. Called at 40 Winter St. Went out shopping with Alice. Called at Pratt's. Noyes, & elsewhere. Had corns cut. Dined at Parker's. Again at Shute's. Start to go to Exeter at 6. Disappointed. Back to Parker House for night. Tel'd Mrs. Gordon. Wrote Tyler & Gray. Retired at 10, after writing on library article.
