(Portland, Ma.) Up at 7.30. Downtown. Called at Mr. Ewing's & at Falmouth House. Back to Mr. Haskell's to dinner. Off at 1.05pm for Bangor - barely reaching the train. Long ride. Pleasant chat with young Philbrick of Watervillew. Reached Bangor at 7.15. Went to Gen. Plaisted's. Retired at 11.15. Sent one letter.
