(Hartford) Up at 7.25. Cold, cloudy day. Sent word to Ned by Sophy. He called after breakfast. Had talk with him. He left with Susie. Wrote him. Talked with Alice. She went down in afternoon shopping and to see Ned. Left in 3.30pm train for New Haven. Called at Mr. Hooker's, Jarman's, and Dea. Bingham's. Took supper at New Haven House. Called at Mrs. Champion's. Saw young Benjamin. Home by steamboat train in evening. Retired at 11.30. Sent five S.S. letters and two others.
