(Hartford) Up at 6.45. Beautiful day. Johnny breakfasted with us. Off with him at 8.10 for New York. Wrote up diary. Wrote Alice and Fred. At New York at 12.50. Met Gurdon and Henry Huntington. Called at Prime's. Lunched there. Called at Y.M.C.A. rooms, on McBurney. Down to Tyler's. Thence, after conference with him, to Delmonico's - cor. of Chambers St. and Jersey City ferry. Off for Phila by 5pm train. Reached Kingsbury's house at Germantown about 8.30. Supper and pleasant evening there. Retired at 11.30. Telegraphed Kingsbury from N.Y.
