(Springfield, Mass.) Up at 7. Bright autumn day. After breakfast at Massasoit, called at Mrs. Merriam's. Rode with her to depot. Off at 9am for Westfield. Called there on Harry Hopkins. Thence to depot. Telegraphed Walter Camp. Returned to Springfield. Saw Holland. Dined at Massasoit. Wrote Napheys. At 12, rode to Mt. Tom & East Hampton. Met Walter Camp. Looked for Forbes brothers. Called at Dr. Seelye's. Mr Dr. Henshaw. Found Forbes boys. Bowled in gymnasium alley with Walter. Back to Westfield by 6.30 train. Stopped with Hopkins. Took tea with him at one of his parishoners. Called at Judge Bate's office to hear No. Blandford case before referees. Home with Harry at 10. Retired at 12.
